Two more people are now in custody related to a theft at Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals sustained injuries by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, as stated by law enforcement.
A 24-year-old man, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area for suspected robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals are still being held, the force said.
These detentions come after an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the incident, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their luggage upon exiting a parking garage elevator.
A toddler aged three was among the injured in the event. A total of five individuals went to hospital for medical care and have since been released.
Officers arrested a man in his thirties on suspicion of theft and assault close to the location. He has since been released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.
Authorities were called at about 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding several people injured by an irritating chemical believed to be an irritant spray.
The attack - an event that police said was a standalone incident and not being treated as terrorism - resulted in delays to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the T3 car park briefly.
